When one begins to study sign language and contacts with the deaf community, does not know that his life will change forever.
These are some things that can happen:
– Sign language no longer seems complicated. So you don’t understand how the rest of humanity does not understand it.

– Sometimes when you’re in the bathroom, in the shower or alone at home you have the overwhelming need to talk to yourself … in sign language.

– You always remember the sign of a person… but his name.

– You keep thinking about how to adapt music (not songs) for deaf people.

– When you remember something, you don’t remember if was it was told orally or in sign language.

– You count to 10 (or 100) every time you get ask “The language of the deafmute … this is not universal?”

– You don´t remember what is to watch a movie with friends without subtitles.

– Numbers in sign language scary you and always will.

– When someone calls “disabled” to one of your deaf friends you get angry and yell “It’s deaf, not disabled”.

– You don’t understand why it is not taught in schools.

– You do not feel comfortable with oral speaking on the bus. Everyone will listen you …

– When you see photos of signs you know what they are saying.

– You can talk with your mouth filled.

– The one who sing with just one hand and manage to make himself understandable, means… God! to you.

– Sign language extends around you like wildfire.

And you, what did you feel when you started studying sign language?
