Myth VI- Deaf people hear and understand if spoken louder.
Being louder doesnât help the deaf (or foreigners) to understand what one is saying.
Depending on the degree of hearing loss a person has, speaking louder could help them understand some words better. However this method isnât always effective because in some cases we would be so loud that the sound would get distorted. And in the case of people with deep deafness itâs useless. If lip-reading is applied it could work better but voice volume isnât influential.
