I was born in Quito, Ecuador, and have been fortunate enough to visit several other cities in the country. From a very young age, I attended various schools, including ISM, Colegio de Am\u00e9rica, and CEBI (in Ambato). Eventually, I found a school that offered modern primary and secondary education, and my sister and I stayed. From then until graduating, that was my academic home, until I entered university for the first time. Through ups and downs, I&#8217;m currently studying something I&#8217;m truly passionate about. I love how the media can influence other people&#8217;s perceptions of specific events or general topics, and that&#8217;s one of the reasons I&#8217;m studying communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve always been interested in social issues. For example, when I was in high school, I was involved with the Student Council several times. I found the democratic process of students taking on the role of candidates and running for office really interesting. I also participated in Model UN conferences, always representing a different country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my free time, I enjoy reading and writing. At one point in my life, I wrote some poetry, but I think it was just a phase. I&#8217;m also very interested in anything related to social work. It&#8217;s always been an area of \u200b\u200bwork that has captivated me. Almost a year ago, I participated as a translator in a project my church, Alianza Los Chillos, carried out with the Fairhaven Church of America&#8217;s Medical Brigades. In this project, for instance, many people with limited resources were helped by providing medical consultations for a dollar, which included medication and basic lab tests if needed.
