The movie about anthropomorphic chipmunks who sing with squeaky voices and auto-tune. There are three chipmunks in total: Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. They sing terribly but have good hearts. On the other hand, there are the Chipettes, the competition, and the female version of the chipmunks. I don’t remember their names, but they sing just as badly. Created in 1958 by Ross Bagdasarian Sr., the franchise includes animated series, movies, and music. David Seville is their adoptive father, a frustrated composer who discovers the chipmunks’ musical talent and guides them in their career. The chipmunks lived in a tree that was cut down and taken to Los Angeles. Throughout the series and movies, the chipmunks face the difficulties of fame, Alvin’s pranks, and the challenges of everyday life, always highlighting values such as friendship, family unity, and teamwork, while mixing humor and catchy songs that have delighted several generations. Alvin is the typical troublemaker, Simon seems to have been born with a dictionary under his arm, and Theodore only thinks about food and hugs. The fame they achieve is not a gift, but a curse that drags them all into a whirlwind of chaos. Amidst stage lights going out and echoes of songs that sound like spectral chants, the story becomes a macabre dance where family and music are barely a tenuous thread keeping them from the darkness.
